His situation became a national news story and he was cleared of the charges. He became a mini-celebrity and made the rounds of talk shows. Although he’d been cleared, and the public saw him as some sort of hero because of his former victimization, there was something that didn’t ring quite true about him and his story.

I smile now at the parents going through that joyous and overworked time. I wish they understood how much they do for the world. I wish they knew how important they are. I wish that the world would recognize the importance of parents and treat them with the respect they deserve, giving them rewards for making the world better for every one of us.
